The Idaho FFA Foundation Ambassador Program blog series has another highlight from Paislie Lancaster. In this blog series, some of our Ambassadors have discussed their experience in FFA, what they are currently up to in their FFA chapter, and more! Check out the below blog from our Ambassador, Paislie Lancaster!
“We just finished our potato harvest in the North Fremont FFA Chapter. About 85% of our FFA chapter participated in the harvest! Our members did things such as sorting potatoes, driving trucks, or running the digging equipment. Our harvest break is two weeks in the fall – this year, the weather was amazing and our members worked so hard! This is a great way for our members to be directly involved in production agriculture.
We also had a largest spud contest! For this contest, the student who had the potato that weighed the most received a $30 prize, an FFA hat, and a free meal at our local Frost Top! The winner for this contest was Sierra Marchant who brought in a potato that weighed 2 lbs. and 14oz!”
