With a planned gift to the Idaho FFA Foundation, you will make a significant impact to agriculture education and leadership development for generations to come.
Your generosity helps support and sustain FFA at the state and local levels. Charitable donations to the Idaho FFA Foundation enables reliable funding, student scholarships, grants for FFA chapters, programs to recognize member achievements and develop young leaders, and resources for educators and learning opportunities to advance the future of agricultural education. Most types of contributions made to the Idaho FFA Foundation are tax deductible.
Legacy gifts are dedicated by those who have planned for the future of FFA by making a future gift to the Idaho FFA Foundation. If you’d like to send confirmation that a future gift has been arranged and an estimate of the gift’s amount, the Idaho FFA Foundation can recognize your contribution ahead of time. The Idaho FFA Foundation can accept legacy gifts in any of the following ways:
- A bequest in a will or trust.
- A beneficiary designation in a retirement plan.
- Ownership or beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
- A gift annuity.
- Charitable remainder trust.
- Any other planned gift that provides for the future of Idaho FFA.
One of the first Idaho FFA Foundation legacy gifts was given in 2016 in memory of Sara Braasch Schmidt. After years of dedicating her life to the things she loved and a courageous and inspiring battle with triple negative breast cancer, Sara’s time on earth ended, but her legacy did not. Sara Braasch Schmidt was an active member of the Payette FFA Chapter and served as Idaho State FFA President in 1989-90. Sara participated in the Washington Leadership Conference (WLC) in 1986 and was a Counselor in 1991 and Director in 1992. She saw WLC as a life changing event personally and for thousands of members who participated while she was on staff. Sara’s goal was to help additional Idaho FFA members participate in this incredible program.
Through a legacy gift to the Idaho FFA Foundation, Sara’s memory lives on in perpetuity. Each year, financial support dividends help fund Washington Leadership Conference travel scholarships and programs for the Foundation.
Since the first legacy gift, several individuals have made other kinds of planned gifts as a way to honor or remember those close to them, or to recognize the positive impact FFA had on their own lives.
If you would like to leave a legacy through a planned gift, or in lieu of flowers for a memorial service, we ask you to keep the Idaho FFA Foundation and the future of agriculture in mind. Thank you for helping grow Idaho FFA!
